Comhar provides mental health, out-patient, HIV and children’s services to residents of metropolitan Philadelphia. The main administrative office houses approximately one dozen physical servers, which are linked to 10 WAN sites where mental retardation services are offered in residential community locations staffed by Comhar employees. Comhar was looking for a disaster recovery (DR) solution to satisfy auditors who requested that a DR plan be put in place to make sure that Comhar could quickly recover data and continue operations in the event of a disaster.
To satisfy audit requirements, Comhar first tested an appliance that claimed to offer disaster recovery capabilities, but it didn’t perform as advertised and its mirrored appliance failed Comhar’s in-house tests.
Based on a referral from an IT colleague, Comhar learned about the onQ™ Site Recovery Appliance and, after testing the system, selected onQ to meet the copany’s backup and disaster recovery needs. “We’re very pleased with the onQ appliance,” says Phil Nigro, IT manager for Comhar. “Not only is onQ easy to use, but it allows us to satisfy auditors through regular testing of our systems and we can immediately recover data should something fail. But most important is the fact that onQ works!
Now able to easily test systems to satisfy audit requirements, while also allowing Comhar to test prior to deploying in production environment.
Time savings (minutes vs. hours) realized using onQ’s simple file-level restores.
The Quorum® support team is “spot on, very down-to-earth, very thorough and helpful.”
